Make Up Your Mind

There are just some things that we must make up our mind about. Have you made a solid decision about Christ in your home? Have you decided? Does everyone in your home know what decisions have been made? Is your focus and direction clear to those inside and outside of your home? The 3 Hebrew children we read of in the book of Daniel (Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednego) made a decision before they were even presented with a challenge. They chose God and not to bow to the system of their day. They resolved to follow God even if God didn’t respond to them in the way they wanted Him to. Joshua asked the people of his day who they would serve and then he proclaimed, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Elijah, in 1 Kings 18, says, “Decide—Is it Baal or Jehovah?” Think about your decision. You may think you’ve made one already, but make sure it’s clear. Make sure your actions, your speech, and your day to day living align with what you say you’ve chosen. If you’ve chosen God, then the day to day of your life should shout that loudly to the world by following godly principles that are outlined in the Bible. It is easy to say we are Christ followers and that we are a Christian home, but if we are the only ones that know it—then maybe we need to check our living.
